Brandlarmet idag / The fire alarm today
I dag kl. 07.01 utlöstes ett brandlarm i huset. Det som händer då är att hissarna går ner till -2 och stannar där. Det startar även fläktar i våra två trapphus som gör att det blir övertryck där för det inte skall komma in brandrök där. Trapphusen är våra evakueringsvägar. Det går inget larm till räddningstjänsten utan att sprinklersystemet aktiveras, vilket det inte gjorde idag.
Det som larmade idag var en rökdetektor i trapphus 2 (det med spiraltrappan) på våning 3. Efter att vi på plats där konstaterat att det inte var någon brand eller rökutveckling i det området och efter kontakt med räddningstjänsten återställde vi larmet.
För att utreda orsaken till larmet tog vi kontakt med BSG som sköter om vårt brandlarmsystem. Då det inte finns några synliga spår efter någon brand eller annat i det området är det svårt fastställa orsaken. Det vi kunnat fastställa är att det var ett skarpt brandlarm och inget tekniskt fel.
En trolig orsak kan vara att någon rökt där. Det är självklart helt förbjudet att röka i våra gemensamma utrymmen i huset. Förutom olägenheten med röklukt och risken för brand så riskerar det få dagens konsekvenser.
The fire alarm today
Today at 07.01 a fire alarm was triggered in the building. What happens then is that the elevators go down to -2 and stay there. It also starts fans in our two stairwells, which creates overpressure there so that fire smoke does not enter there. The stairwells are our evacuation routes. No alarm goes to the emergency services without the sprinkler system being activated, which it did not do today.
What set off the alarm today was a smoke detector in stairwell 2 (the one with the spiral staircase) on floor 3. After we ascertained on the spot that there was no fire or smoke in that area and after contacting the emergency services, we reset the alarm.
To investigate the cause of the alarm, we contacted BSG, which manages our fire alarm system. Since there are no visible traces of a fire or anything else in that area, it is difficult to determine the cause. What we were able to establish is that it was a sharp fire alarm and no technical fault.
A likely cause could be that someone smoked there. It is of course completely forbidden to smoke in our common areas of the house. In addition to the inconvenience of the smell of smoke and the risk of fire, it risks having today's consequences.
